NTC Made Me Cry...

When you ask the universe to send you a sign that you’re doing the right thing, on the right path, and should stay the course and then it answers back in a big way… Enter NTEN and the Champion Award. Having the chance to hear from those you admire most, praise you, it’s overwhelming (in a good way). If you had told me five years later I’d receive the honor, I would have laughed in your face!

Five years ago I attended NTC for the first time with Janice Chan. We presented on grant writing. It was that year she won the Champions Award…I remember being an awe of her! Lucky to be at the conference alongside her. She made my first speaking experience enjoyable, no stress. And she made it look so easy! A comfort for my nerves, she welcomed me into her gaggle of peers. I wasn’t a full techy. Databases were part of my job but I was struggling to step fully into development. I left the conference that year with the confidence to take a leap and applied for a straight development job. The rest, is history.

To be honored in this way, by this conference, by Janice, and others I met that first year—it’s a beautiful thing!
